Greenwood Chess Club offers game against pro

Greenwood Chess Club and Precision Tune Auto Care invite all players to play chess with a grandmaster Monday at Greenwood Mall.

Seating is assigned at the 5 p.m. registration.

This event is free and open to players and spectators.

Gregory Kaidanov, one of the top grandmasters in the United States, is touring four South Carolina cities and giving a series of exhibitions.

His lecture and question-and-answer session begin at 5:30 p.m., and simultaneous play starts at 6.

After simultaneous play, there will be a a random drawing of five names from Greenwood Chess Club for:

- Four-man Blitz Simul (four names drawn).
- Blindfold Blitz Game (one name drawn)
